Hieu Minh Ngo, also known as Hieu PC, is a Vietnamese cyber security specialist and former hacker. Born on October 8, 1989, in Gia Lai, Vietnam, Hieu was convicted in the United States for stealing millions of people’s personally identifiable information and was sentenced to 13 years in U.S. federal prison in 2015. After his early release in 2020, he returned to Vietnam and was recruited by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) under the Ministry of Information and Communications as a technical expert.
Hieu is currently the director of ChongLuaDao Social Enterprise LLC, and manages the non-profit project ChongLuaDao, which he co-founded.
He has been instrumental in various cybersecurity initiatives, including dismantling fake websites and providing public education on cybersecurity. Hieu’s transformation from a “black hat” hacker to a “white hat” cybersecurity expert has earned him recognition and awards from several technological companies and service providers. He continues to contribute to cybersecurity through his work with CyPeace, a company he co-founded, and his involvement in various social projects and information security events.
